2005 News at Heikes Quarter Horses
2005 CRBC
Troy Heikes won the Canadian Reining Breeders Classic Futurity, (CRBC) in Winnipeg, Canada on Nestle Quik Chic, earning $10,000 for owner Buck Hazeldine.
 
2005 Kansas Sunflower Slide
Troy Heikes rode a 3 year old filly,Nestle Quik Chic, by Chocolate Chic Olena and out of Miss Hello Hollywood, owned by Buck Hazeldine, to a 148 to earn $6,000 and the Open Futurity Reserve Championship.
 
 

Troy Heikes rode Malt Whizkey, owned by Sally Brown, to the Open Derby Finals.

Andrea Heikes made the Int and Ltd Non Pro
on her gelding, Little Dual Dunnit.

Congrats to student Tricia Hamilton for tying to win the Res Championship in the Int and Ltd Open divisions on her two horses, Lenas Taxman and In It For The Chics. Tricia also made the Open Finals on Lenas Taxman.

Assistant Trainer Roper Curtiss also made the Ltd Open finals on Shesa Tricky Rooster, owned by Kimberlee Hendryx.

Congrats also go to Lisa Cover on placing 3rd in the Non Pro ancillary class on her gelding, Mr Chocoholic.

 
Moving to Scottsdale!

Troy Heikes and his assistants will be moving to Scottsdale, AZ in July to work at the newly built facility, American West Quarter Horses, on Rio Verde Drive. Check back soon for more information!

 
2005 NRBC

Congratulations to Lisa Cover on placing 4th in the Non Pro NRBC Classic aboard her gelding, Mr Chocoholic, and earning over $12,000.

Andrea Heikes made the Ltd Non Pro finals on her nice gelding, Little Dual Dunnit. They placed 9th to earn over $747.

Assistant trainer Dave Zimmerman made the Ltd finals on Gun Totin Boots.

 
2005 Cactus Classic

At the 2005 Cactus Classic in Scottsdale, Arizona, Troy Heikes won the Open Derby on Hello Starshine (a full sister to Jacs Electric Spark), by Shining Spark and out of Miss Hello Hollywood, owned by Sally Brown.

Student Trish Hamilton won the Ltd Open Derby, and was 3rd in the open Derby on Flawless Footwork, a gelding by Footworks Finest out of Katijac Miss, owned by Bob Hamilton.

Andrea Heikes was 3rd in all 3 divisions of the Non Pro Derby on Little Dual Dunnit, by Hollywood Dun It out of Little Dual Missie.
